Lydia Gleaves is a Ph.D. student in the Systems Engineering program at the George Washington University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. Lydia earned both her Bachelor of Science (in Mechanical Engineering) and her Master of Science (in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Industrial Engineering) from the George Washington University as well – she has her heart set on becoming a three-time alum.

Her academic interests are natural language processing and machine learning. She would also love to discover a reliable method to keep her potted plants from dying; she has skimmed some papers on the “regular watering” technique, but will have to delve deeper into the literature before she feels comfortable with such a novel approach.
